At Broadway Junior School, we recognise the important role that high-quality careers education plays in preparing pupils for life beyond primary school. We are committed to developing children’s aspirations, broadening their understanding of the world of work, and equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in an ever-changing society.
Our careers education programme aims to inspire pupils from an early age by helping them understand the wide range of opportunities available to them, particularly within the North East labour market. - Raise Aspirations
Inspire pupils to dream big, develop ambitions, and explore the many pathways available to them, including further education, apprenticeships, and self-employment. - Develop Essential Skills
Equip pupils with transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, resilience, creativity, problem-solving, and independence that will support success in education and future employment. - Increase Career Awareness
Introduce pupils to a broad range of careers, industries, and workplaces, with a particular focus on sectors that are growing within the North East region. - Promote Inclusion and Challenge Stereotypes
Challenge stereotypes and ensure all pupils understand that career opportunities are open to everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, or background. - Engage and Inform Parents
Work in partnership with families to raise awareness of local labour market opportunities and support parents in guiding their children towards ambitious and realistic future pathways.
